Meeting with this group of Children for over 1 year, almost 2 years now, has been a truly Divine path. :) As we see they blossom and become today's teenagers who try to understand what it is living in harmony and in joy, we witness the most beautiful and precious in life. Speed, it seems as if all happens too fast and even our Children do not have the time to grasp it all and understand what truly is going on or how the world is supposed to work in harmony. Hum....

Our Children are so much joy to observe as they carry in them a Light that is Divine and endless. Seeing a Child in darkness is one of the saddest things for me personally. It is our duty, as the adults in their lives, to make sure that Light is shinning within them. Their LIGHT is magical and it heals the world's pains. Children are our hope, our power, our future. We have been observing these Children grow and becoming in tune with their nature and living balanced, joyful, and above all meaningful lives. It is a precious JOY.

On Saturday, August 30th, 2008 we met at our local library, which by the way is a GREAT place to meet. Our agenda called for a number of things and some of which of extreme importance.

Our Mission Statement reads: Mission (Full Version) The Dream Believe Inspire Group seeks partnership with the global community to honor, respect, and uplift Children, Teens, and Young Adults worldwide. Together, we motivate our posterity to chase their dreams, believe in a brighter future, and inspire others around them. We create the leaders of tomorrow who exhibit strong moral values, minds of steel, and hearts of gold. The Dream Believe Inspire Project came to life to be the change we wish to see in the future lives of today’s Children, Teens, and Young Adults. We inspire all to understand true gratitude through acts of service and support harmony between the five pillars of life-long strong belief-systems: the physical, mental, spiritual, emotional, and financial realms of life. Today we worked on understanding at a deep level what it truly means to be an enlightened being with a mind of steel and a heart of gold.

Here is what we have come to decide our Children will represent and how this can be brought to life.

What does it truly mean to be an
ENLIGHTENED BEING WITH A MIND OF STEEL AND A HEART OF GOLD?

_B___- We are Individuals who live with the LIGHT within us. We do not allow darkness to shatter us nor take us over. The LIGHT lives within us.

_B___- We are individuals who choose to make choices based on value for ourselves and others around us. If a choice we make serves no positive and meaningful purpose or value to our own precious lives and the lives of others around us, then it is a choice we must discard of.

__B__- We are individuals who treat others the way we appreciate being treated. ALWAYS!

__HG__- We are individuals who value honorable deeds that serve the human kind.

__B__- We are individuals who of character, integrity, and honesty.

__MS__- We are individuals who know what must be done and do it despite of what others think, say or do. We have our own minds and are in control over our minds at all times, thus the steel. This represents our ability to be strong to defend what is right, ALWAYS.

__HG__- We are individuals who choose to care about others around us and their joy and well being.

__HG__- We are individuals who choose to give of ourselves whenever needed or called for, without hesitating.

__MS__- We are individuals who choose to NOT do drugs, alcohol, or any other substance which does not support the well being of our God given temples: our own BODY and our own MIND. If it is harmful, we do not use it, PERIOD. We have other ways to achieve FUN, JOY, and EXCITMENT other than harmful substances and habits. We are proud of this conscious choice and choose to share it with others who have weaker minds and need our support understanding the POWER of SAYING NO to Drugs and other unhealthy choices. We share this choice with the WORLD and do not break this rule, PERIOD.

__HG__- We give of ourselves to others when it is required of us. We value the feelings of others around us and make sure to share of our food, belongings, and hearts ALWAYS as required.

We pledge to act according to the above values and beliefs at each given moment of our precious lives no matter how challenging or trying it may be at times.

On June 14th the Dream Believe Inspire Team worked on a very interesting and meaningful exercise. Everyone worked on finding what their verb is. We asked the question: "What makes me exist?" What is the most important and significant motivation and moving verb in my life?"

Inspired by a successful internet marketing specialist, Alex Mandossian, I have decided to discover what moves the special DBI Children/Teens/Young Adults.
I had to go within myself and came to two verbs I felt equally representative of what I'm here for. The team members did a superb job. They even came out with several different verbs.....I LOVE IT!!!!

Why Think Positively?

All of our feelings, beliefs and knowledge are based on our internal thoughts, both conscious and subconscious. We are in control, whether we know it or not.

We can be positive or negative, enthusiastic or dull, active or passive.

The biggest difference between people is their attitudes. For some, learning is enjoyable and exciting. For others, learning is a drudgery. For many, learning is just okay, something required on the road to a job.

Our present attitudes are habits, built from the feedback of parents, friends, society and self, that form our self-image and our world-image.

These attitudes are maintained by the inner conversations we constantly have with ourselves, both consciously and subconsciously.

The first step in changing our attitudes is to change our inner conversations.

What Should We Be Saying? 

One approach is called the three C's: Commitment, Control and Challenge.

Commitment
Make a positive commitment to yourself, to learning, work, family, friends, nature, and other worthwhile causes. Praise yourself and others. Dream of success. Be enthusiastic.

Control
Keep your mind focused on important things. Set goals and priorities for what you think and do. Visualize to practice your actions. Develop a strategy for dealing with problems. Learn to relax. Enjoy successes. Be honest with yourself.

Challenge
Be courageous. Change and improve each day. Do your best and don't look back. See learning and change as opportunities. Try new things. Consider several options. Meet new people. Ask lots of questions. Keep track of your mental and physical health. Be optimistic.

Studies show that people with these characteristics are winners in good times and survivors in hard times.

Commitment, control and challenge help build self-esteem and promote positive thinking. Here are some other suggestions.

7 Suggestions for Building Positive Attitudes 

• In every class, look for positive people to associate with.
• In every lecture, look for one more interesting idea.
• In every chapter, find one more concept important to you.
• With every friend, explain a new idea you've just learned.
• With every teacher, ask a question.
• With yourself, keep a list of your goals, positive thoughts and actions.

Remember, you are what you think, you feel what you want!

TO DO THIS COMING WEEK!

Gift yourself a Journal! ]Choose this journal with Enthusiasm! Make sure it is a design you like and will enjoy visit daily. Keep this journal next to your bed. Every evening, before you retire, take a minimum of 10 minutes of your time and visit your journal. This will be your “Life as I choose to Live it” journal. In it, you can write freely about your thoughts and feelings making sure you always touch on the following:

·         What was the highest version of myself today? How do I feel about it?

·         What was the lowest version of myself today? How do I feel about it?

·         Write a small paragraph describing how you envision your day tomorrow to be like?

IMPORTANT REMINDERS:
- DRINK your Water (64oz/day)!
- Do your Physical Activity DAILY (Minimum 15-20 minutes)
- Eat your “Five a day”!
- Read your Affirmations and Thoughts Daily!

Words we Choose to Use Daily

At yesterday's meeting, April 28th, we continued our work on words we choose to use daily and the ones we choose to eliminate from our vocabulary. The girls did a FABULOUS job! Way to go girls!

Words we Choose to Use Daily

Words you should seriously consider removing from your vocabulary

HATE – Replace it with “I totally dislike….”

STUPID – Replace it with “Silly”

WEIRD – Replace it with “Different”

This week DBI chooses to eliminate the word Crap from our vocabulary!

Seriously consider replacing negative emotions, opinions, connotations with positive words. Here are some examples:

“That’s so bad!” – Replace it with “That is not so good”

“That’s ugly!” – Replace it with “That’s not so pretty”

“You are so stupid” – Replace it with “You are not being too smart”

“That is horrible” – Replace it with “That is not good at all”

Now as a group let’s come up with some other examples for the word we decide to eliminate this week: Crap

"This food tastes like crap" to be replaced with "This food is not too good"

"Holly Crap!" to be replaced with "Oh, my Gosh!"

"You have crapping writing" to be replaced with "You have different writing"

"The pizza looks like crap" to be replaced with "The pizza does not look too good"

"That's just crap" to be replaced with "That is just wrong"

I love the thought of all of you being truly careful about the words you choose to surround your existence with. What you think about, you bring about. What you speak about, you bring about. Therefore, choose to think and speak positively, always! J

I think you are the smartest person in the whole wide world to think of this idea. You have such a vivid, valid, and good point and indeed there are some kids in the world that don't have inner peace within themselves, they only care about the outside!!
