The following note has been given to the Tampa Bay DBI Team. As we bring about work on Financial Abundance, we wish to be certain parents are in agreement with having their kids involved. This is an on-going work and we wish it to be of lifetime benefit to all DBI Team members, both off and online.

A Note to Dream Believe Inspire Parents

Dear DBI Parent,

First let me begin by stating how proud we are of your child’s performance and attitude within the DBI Team. The children are doing EXCELLENT work and we envision this Team to grow in a positive and powerful light. We are grateful for your confidence and for entrusting your children to us. We are working hard on having a positive impact in their lives. As of now we have a total of EIGHT DBI Children. J

As a DBI Team Leader, from time to time as I implement some of the foundational work, various projects and programs, I will come to you when I think that a possibility that you may not agree with the work to be done may exist. The program I am about to introduce to the Team is one that I would like to have your acceptance before I involve your child in it.

As you and I know, the school system does not focus their attention to teaching our children about financial responsibility nor how the economics of the financial real world truly work. Financial stability is, in my view, an important aspect in life. In today’s world being financially stable has an impact in the quality of our lives as well as the lives of our children. I would like to introduce a program to our DBI Team by which they will be introduced to the importance of financial stability and responsibility. Our Team will make a decision that they will always remember to strive to be financially stable as they grow older. I will work with them on the understanding that working on something they truly enjoy doing accompanied by the decision of doing it well enough as to guarantee their financial independence is extremely important.

Also, one of our projects includes having our children pick up the professions they believe are of interest to them and have them visit professionals in those specific areas where the children will be able to observe for a day what that job entails and ask as many questions as they may have. This will aid them in their exploring phase at an early enough age to possibly have them decide on a career choice or inclination early in the game.

This project above combined with lessons on financial abundance and stability may have powerful results. I see this as an aid to all the many valuable lessons you and I teach our children at home daily. However, if the thought of teaching your children to learn to consider very seriously the lifetime goal of being financially independent and stable is a thought that you are not comfortable with, I will make certain your child is not included in this specific effort.

Lastly, I assure you that this effort will be accompanied by assurance to our children that financial abundance or stability are NOT to be considered more important than other values such as LOVE for our family and fellow beings, Compassion, Understanding, Honesty, and other endless values they must consider before anything else in their lives.

You child is taking home a sample of what we will be working on this project. Please take a moment to review it, think about this, discuss it with your child, and please sign below.

Daily Goals Chart - DBI TEAM Work

Here is a sample of the Dream Believe Inspire Team - Daily Goals Chart.

The DBI girls and boys are to strive to do the following on a daily basis. This is an evolving chart and will be updated according to the changes the Team decides upon. This Chart has been designed in a way that assists each individual on getting the habit of doing these things on a daily basis.

The Chart is to be added to the refrigerator door and be checked daily at the end of the day before each DBI team member retires for the evening. Spaces for check marks allow for individual tasks to be monitored. At the end of the month each DBI team member is to sit down for a moment and look at his/her individual chart and see where efforts need to be redirected the following month.

This is not a tool to be looked at in a competition light nor a self-punishment or self-judgement. This is a tool to assist you in becoming the highest version of yourself at all times. It takes effort, and this will assist you in that direction. Being the highest version of yourself at all times is a wonderful goal, is it not? Let us do it together. We can reserve some time at one of our monthly gatherings to talk about our own progress, challenges, ideas in reference to our Charts. :)

H2o, Health, Love and Gratitude

Water is purity. The "water world" is an interesting, fascinating, rich world. And we are going to explore it together. DBI kids drink water, understand its benefits and fascinating facts, and LOVE water.


At yesterday's meeting Ms. Susan shared with the girls a number of benefits about water. If you missed the meeting yesterday, below you will find what Ms. Susan shared with the team about water.

Dr. Emoto is the Dr. who conducted the study we shared with you a number of meetings ago. The Dr. that experimented with water and its relation with feelings, thoughts and words and the impact the those have on water. A few weeks ago I got the audio book "The Hidden Messages In Water" and visited the sites featuring Dr. Emoto's fascinating work.

The Message from Water through photographs of many water crystals, shows that water is capable of memorizing, retaining, and relaying any type of information such as: music, pictures, words, prayers, and thoughts. The Message from Water was first published in 1999 both in English and Japanese, resonated with many, and spread across the world predominantly by a word of mouth. It is currently translated in over 30 languages and has become an international bestseller.

Dr. Emoto and many of his readers believe that water holds the potential to create peace on earth. Dr. Emoto and many of his readers believe by holding the intention of peace towards water by thinking, speaking and acting with the intention of peace toward water water can and will bring peace to our bodies and to the world.

Now let me share with you another project Dr. Emoto works on entitled Love and Thanks to Water. Take the time to read this, think about it for a moment and begin working on this moving forward. Remember, DBI girls and boys have a special relationship with WATER.

• Put a glass of water on a table in your kitchen, dining room or private room. Tell the water "I love you" and "Thank you", gently. At the same time, briefly visualize that all the water on Earth is connected with each other. You can do this with your children, family members and friends. Your Love and Thanks will be sent out to all the water on Earth through the water in the glass.
• How about imagining the following when you are touching the water coming from the faucet while doing the dishes, washing rice before cooking, or washing your clothes? The vibration of your Love and Thanks is overflowing from your heart through your chest, shoulders, and arms, and going through your palms that are touching the water into the water going out into a drain pipe. Your vibration will go through the flow of water very easily into the drain, into the nearby rivers and finally enter the ocean. The vapor from the ocean will build clouds and then the water will fall down as rains onto various parts of the world. In this way, the vibration of Love and Thanks that has originated from your heart will be transmitted to all over the world through the water network. This is a very easy way, and you can do this every day and every time you use water.
• An easier way will be just to tell gently "I love you" and "Thank you" to the water that is flowing out into a drain pipe after it has finished its role. This will surely change the vibration of the water.
• It is also very effective to put a "Thank you" sticker to the surface of the faucet. Every time you turn the faucet, it will remind you of the importance to express your gratitude to water.
• Or, if you want to do it a little bigger, then you can have a gathering around a pond, a lake, a river or along seashore. Then make a circle, holding hands, and say the same thing as above or more. Remember that the power of prayer is proportionate to the square of the number of people. You can add to this ceremony your own prayers that express your Love and Thanks toward water or Planet Earth.
• As the vibration of your Love and Thanks flows from your heart, you may feel your chest getting warmer and warmer. This will be the result of the Law of the Universe "What you give, you will receive".

        Water…..how much do you need???

What are some of the reasons we need water?

Fact : Generally, women are about 55-percent water and men are about 60-percent.

Everything that happens to your body requires water:

• Oxygen transport
• Brain function
• Cell reproduction
• Cellular waste removal
• Kidney and liver filtration
• Organ functions
• Metabolism of fat in the liver
• Temperature regulation through perspiration
• Joint lubrication
• Electrolyte balance *
• Blood, urine and on and on 

What else does water do?

• Helps digestion
• Nutrient absorption and elimination
• Flushes out toxins
• Helps prevent disease 

FACT: The amount of water you drink can also affect your energy levels.

Dehydration causes a significant energy loss, a 5-percent drop in body fluids can cause a 25-30-percent drop in energy.

Fact:  We are exposed to harmful substances from the air, food and just about everything we touch. We can’t avoid toxins, but we can get rid of them with the right amount of water.

So how much is enough? How much is too much?  Everyone has different needs,

start with dividing your body weight in half.

• The result is the number of ounces you should drink each day.
• Drink before, during and after a workout  (extra)
• Drink more if you are outside on a very hot day

*n) electrolyte balance (an equilibrium between the amounts of electrolytes (as calcium and sodium and potassium) that is essential for normal health and functioning

When deciding what to drink,

Water is your best choice because it has no calories, additives or preservatives. 

Our bodies are designed to run primarily on water.  The quality of the water is also important.

Here are some ways to be sure the water you are drinking is the best source for your health:

·         Check out this valuable information at the EPA’s Web site.  Drinking Water and Health: What You Need to Know  it explains what contaminants may be found, where drinking water comes from and how it is treated, etc.  www.epa.gov/safewater/dwinfo.htm.

·         If you drink bottled water, check the company’s Web site for their water quality report. If it’s not available, research different brands until you are satisfied with the information.

Some thoughts on the Yoga practice

YOGA The word YOGA comes from the Sanskrit language, and means to "yoke" or "unite" the body, mind, and spirit.

Yoga is not a religous practice. Yoga is a practice that highlights the best in human nature. These are some of the thoughts I found about Yoga that I choose to share with you on what Yoga represents in our lives:

"Yoga is a universal practice that nourishes all that is good in a person by promoting inner harmony and peace of body, mind and spirit.  It is based on the principles of truth, love, right conduct, peace and nonviolence – all universal qualities.
Yoga is a universal system of self-development that physically brings flexibility, strength and good health.  It teaches the techniques that lead to relaxation and inner peace so needed in this stressful world of today. The breathing exercises help to harmonize, balance, and strengthen both the immune and nervous systems, leading to a healthy mind in a healthy body.
Yoga is used as a supplementary therapy in many health concerns such as cancer, diabetes, arthritis, asthma, headaches and many others." (Words by Roger Carling Kelly, a Terrace natural health practitioner who has practised yoga for more than 30 years.)

At no time will Yoga encourage anyone to change their religious beliefs. Yoga simply will encourage each one of us to look within and come into an existence where we at all times strive to come from a place of balance, joy, and harmony. Children can highly benefit from this practice and that is what Dream Believe Inspire is all about: Inspire Children to learn how to live their lives in balance, in joy, in harmony!

I will now share with you a list I found online that compares our public schools physical education elements with those of the Yoga practice:

Public Schools Physical Education Standards:

1.      Balance while bending and stretching.

2.      Recognize that skill development requires practice.

3.      Identify various body parts and their location.

4.      Create movements using different body parts.

5.      Discuss the connection between food, nutrition and energy.

6.      Develop responsibility for expected behavior on the playground and in the classroom.

7.      Stretch basic muscle groups.

8.      Co-operate individually, with a partner, or in a group.

9.      Understand how the body functions as a whole.

10.  Recognize and appreciate their own and others feelings.

11.  Move each joint in a full range of motion.

Integrate personal meaning through a creative movement experience.

Elements of Yoga:

1.        Many yoga poses incorporate balancing, and all use stretching.

2.        Practicing over a period of time yields noticeable improvements.

3.        Instructor discusses and uses graphic demonstration of anatomy.

4.        Yoga utilizes all body parts in its regime.

5.        Instructor discusses how food affects our bodies and minds.

6.        Yoga involves the development of self-discipline and concentration as well as respect for others.

7.        The practice of yoga affects every muscle group in the body.

8.        Yoga provides opportunities for group or partner experiences.

9.        A holistic viewpoint of the body is a basic part of yoga.

10.     Through yoga, a variety of feelings arise, and the instructor emphasizes validating feelings.

11.     Students learn to move every joint, with an emphasis on safely extending the range of motion.

Yoga practice is as much an introspective meditation as it is a system of physical exercise, so it encourages personal meaning.

I hope this helps you understand the many benefits of the yoga practice and encourage you to allow yoga to become part of your life, forever. :)

Overweight Children

Weight control is a challenge faced by both adults and children alike. Being cautious about our food intake is highly important in trying to maintain healthy weight. Dr. Weil, author of The Healthy Kitchen, and a trusted health advisor, shares with us some tips on how to help your child maintain a healthy weight level. We will keep bringing to you Dr.Weil's wisdom.

Is your child overweight? Here are steps you can take to help your child form new health habits: 

• Eat meals together. This will give you more control over the food your child eats. Learn about differences between good and bad fats and good and bad carbohydrates. Minimize consumption of fast food and snack foods.
• Consult “The Healthy Kitchen” – the book I wrote with Rosie Daley – for concise information on nutrition as well as easy recipes. Family mealtimes also give parents an opportunity to find out what their kids are worried about so they can address any stress that might underlie emotional eating.
• Encourage physical activity. Schools have cut back on physical education classes and extracurricular sports programs so it’s now up to parents to make sure that their kids get daily exercise. Try to make this a family activity.
• Curb screen time: Limit the time your child watches television, plays video games or sits at the computer.

A Special Invitation to YOUR Child!

My dear friend,

We take this opportunity to invite you to bring your child. We encourage you to read “The Vision” and become part of it. I truly believe in the importance of inspiring our children from an early age to become balanced human beings, to be joyful and willing to dream, to believe in themselves, to be joyful about inspiring other children around them.

The balance between our bodies, our minds, and our spirits is as important as the act of living itself. Once you get introduced to that path, you will never, ever, go back to a life without striving for BALANCE. It really is powerful.

Let’s imagine together a world where children are thought about the importance of being balanced, of utilizing the power of their minds to keep centered despite life’s ups and downs., the importance of being inspired to always dream, believe and inspire others around them.

I believe that these principles and teachings should be part of school curriculum. They should be introduced at a very early age to each and every single child, everywhere.

Let’s get our children together and attempt to do just that. Encourage them to be balanced, to believe, to dream, to inspire.

The choice is yours!

LATE ONE AFTERNOON a skinny young man dashed down the steps at his school to check out the bulletin board by the gym. His heart was pounding as he saw the list that would tell if he had realized his dream of making the high school basketball team. He read it again and again, each time with the same result—his name was not there. He had failed. That day, that moment, would change his life.

For the next year, regardless of the weather, he practiced four to six hours every day in a park about a mile from his home. Many nights he was alone under the moonlight, practicing every move, every shot that he needed to make next year's team.

The ending is a happy one. He did make the team—and Michael Jordan, on the heels of failure, went on to become the greatest basketball player of all time.

What is the lesson to be learned from the Michael Jordan story? It is this . . . your success or failure in life will not be decided by the number of setbacks you encounter, but rather how you react to them.

had a choice. He could take his defeat personally, blame the coach, and throw in the towel, or he could do what he did—keep working, keep trying. Would

ever have achieved greatness had he not fought back from failure? My guess is no. I believe with all my heart that, "Whatever doesn't kill us makes us stronger." If you choose a positive approach in difficult times, you can take control of your life.

Of all the material I've ever read about the importance of maintaining a positive attitude, this classic essay from Charles Swindoll is my favorite.

The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than the facts.

It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness, or skill. It will make or break a company . . . a church . . . a home.

The Power of Affirmations

The Power of Affirmations

Allow me to share the following message on the power of affirmations in the life of our children.

Like a computer, our mind processes all the information we input. Our beliefs and expectations are built up by the thoughts and suggestions we regularly give ourselves. So too with children. Our child's mind is incredibly active with thousands of thoughts each day. Affirmations - short simple statements that we repeat to ourselves either internally or out loud - can effectively direct those thoughts towards a particular purpose.

For very young children, parents and caregivers can speak affirmations directly to their children, helping to both build their vocabulary and empower them. Young children love to hear positive statements about their worth and abilities, especially spoken aloud by people whom they love and respect. As children grow and their language develops, they will learn to use affirmations themselves to direct their minds towards picturing desirable outcomes.

For example, if your child is worried about an upcoming test, you could teach her to repeat to herself, "I'm going to do really well… I'm going to do really well... I'm going to do really well." By reciting this positive statement over and over again for several minutes, the mind, like a horse being led to water, is led to consider "doing well." The mind shifts from the worry, to confidence (or whatever the affirmation is suggesting). Affirmations also affect actions. As a result of the positive stimulus her mind is feeding her, she may even study an extra half hour before going to bed. Most importantly, she'll start thinking about "doing well," and expecting the best in her performance.

When children feel depressed, worried, or fearful, as everyone occasionally does, it is usually because of the thoughts they're thinking. Negative thoughts like, "Nobody likes me," or "I'm going to fail the exam," almost always come to children as auditory messages, as opposed to a mental picture. It's like a little annoying voice inside them saying, "You're going to fail," or "Nobody likes you." We can help our children overcome their doubts and fears by also using the power of words. The key is to show them how they can change the negative words inside their heads into positive verbal suggestions. That's exactly what affirmations do.

The recent Harry Potter phenomenon has done wonders to reintroduce the element of magic into modern children's literature. It's actually no surprise that Ms. Rowling's readership has spanned all generations. Humanity has always been in awe of supernatural powers. Magical incantations such as "abracadabra" have been used throughout the ages in hundreds of mythical tales by magicians and sorcerers who, with that one word, could cause astonishing miracles to take place. Children have always been fascinated by the magic power of words. Affirmations can have the same miraculous effect on how children feel and perceive their world. What makes mind power so extraordinary is that when children use affirmations, they are accessing the magical power of their own minds.

An easy way to describe to your child the power of affirmations is to compare the mind to a tape recorder. It's always on, recording all of our thoughts. Whatever thought we think, whether it's happy or sad, positive or negative, it is recorded. For example, when we find ourselves in a situation that reminds us of a past negative experience, our mind plays back one of the old thought tapes. While we can't change the unpleasant experiences that have already taken place in our lives, we can change how we react to similar situations. By encouraging the mind to picture positive expectations through the use of affirmations, we eventually record over the negative thought tapes with new positive thoughts. Your child will be thrilled to know that she has the power to change her own thoughts simply with words, and you can encourage her to try it in numerous situations.

The affirmation technique gives your child a simple but powerful tool they can use for a lifetime. With practice, they will develop the mental habit of using affirmations in a whole range of different situations, resulting in positive attitudes, hope and confidence.

Mind Power for Children

Teaching Mind Power for Children

Allow me to share with you a belief I have in my heart and that inspires me to lead my child and other children in my world to follow the path of belief in the power of the human MIND. I will gift you with a referral to a book that can impact tremendously the life of your child. "Mind Power for Children" by John Kehoe and Nancy Fischer.

These are the thoughs I choose to share with you today, thoughts from the authors of this wonderful book.......

"Thoughts are the most powerful forces in a child's universe. The thoughts children think each day influence every aspect of their lives. Their attitudes, choices, personality, and who they ultimately become as individuals, are all products of their thinking.

We all want our children to have positive attitudes, make wise choices and feel good about themselves. This is obvious. What is not so obvious is how to achieve this. Courses in thinking have never been part of the regular school curriculum. How to think with purpose and clarity is a skill that needs to be taught at home. It falls upon us as parents to instill good thinking habits in our children.

Until recently, little was known or understood about the science of mind power. Fortunately this is no longer true. Now, at the beginning of the 21st century, mind power is a well-respected practice used daily by millions. Contemporary media, whether it be mass circulation magazines, TV documentaries or scholarly publications such as The New England Journal of Medicine, abound in material extolling the virtues of training the mind. Sports icons such as Tiger Woods and Michael Jordan share how mental training complements their physical workouts, with noticeable results. However, even with all this attention, the practice of mind power has been overlooked by perhaps the most influential segment of our society - parents. For whatever reason, it seems to have eluded parents and teachers that what has worked so successfully with adults could be adapted and taught to children. Everyone assumed that mind power was an adult practice, that young children would be unable to understand or use these methods. Fortunately, this is not the case. Children not only take easily to mind power, but thrive using the techniques.

We have spent the last ten years teaching the unique Mind Power program presented in the book Mind Power for Children to thousands of children of all ages. The results have been spectacular and lasting. Children's potential was explored and expanded in ways we had not even envisioned when we began our first program. Our hope is that by sharing these stories and experiences, you will feel inspired to follow this path with the children in your life."
